Working Dogs
There are many different breeds that are used in the field of working dogs. There are many types of working dogs, such as herding and hunting that have helped man for many many years with farm duties. This site will mainly touch on those breeds that have been used in the working field of rescue, serving and protecting. Dogs have been used it seems forever in these lines of work and have only over the most recent years been given the acknowledgment they deserve for their bravery and loyalty. Many of dogs have given their lives with no question or hesitation while working on duty. These dogs as well as the dogs who are currently serving are owed our highest admiration and with great honor a tribute to them all.
Service Breeds
Many of the breeds selected for these types of jobs are carefully done through a means of testing and breeding. Depending on the type of job the dog is being used for will depend on his breed and disposition and character. A dog who will be used for guide service will most likely be the Retriever breeds. These dogs are friendly and loving and loyal to the end. Dogs who are used for rescue will also be retrievers as they are never given an order to attack, only to find objects or people. Other dogs that require a more aggressive behavior for police and military work would be the German Shepherd and the Rottweiler breeds. There are many types and different dogs that serve. Mans best friend can be taken in a few ways. To some
people it may be the first friend you has in grade school, or the friend
you made in college. Maybe it is your mom or dad or a sister or brother.
People have different types of friends, some are lifetime and some come
and go.
There is one thing for certain, when it comes to a best friend that
you can rely on and know will be a loyal companion you can't find anything
or anyone that will fill that spot greater than what a dog will. No
matter what, right to the bitter end a dog will remain your loyal companion.

This site has been designed with the thoughts of all the dogs that have served and given their lives while on duty, or for the benefit of mankind. We always hear of the men and women who lay their lives on the line for us and serve and protect. Not nearly enough do we give credit to our canine friends that have save the lives of so many and have given theirs so that we as humans can live.
This web site will hopefully give you an insight of just how hard these dogs work and never ask or question anything. Dogs are remarkable creatures that will strive to please and will ask nothing in return but to be loved by someone and cared for.
